DJ Shares
This man’s musical style can’t be contained to one genre. As an open format DJ, he’s been known to play anything from Hip-Hop, Electro, Remixes, House, Mash-ups, Indie Dance, Dubstep, and much more, making him one of Colorado’s most versatile, party rockin’ DJs. DJ Shares has a range of music at hand, and a sharp focus in mind, which he delivers to nightclubs and special events all over The US. And with residencies all over Colorado, there’s a good chance that you’ve already heard him rock the party!
He first jumped onto the turntables at the age of 14, and after a short hiatus, returned to sharpen his skills at the age of 18. With his sights set on rocking parties and having fun, DJ Shares was “born”. In 2003, he linked up with Dj Artie K (Brooklyn) and began studying the art of DJing. Under the wing of Artie, DJ Shares soaked in as much of the music business as he could, gathering music, studying which songs worked best when, and dialing in his DJ skills in his home in Rochester, NY. In 2007, DJ Shares began playing parties at Cornell University, Ithaca College, and in Rochester.
Shares moved to Boulder, CO in the summer of 2007 and began his first residency at the Purple Martini. From there he gained in popularity and developed a strong following. After taking over the “Greek” party scene at CU with DJ Largechild, he began booking weekly gigs at Bacaro and The Goose in Boulder. Following several successful years at the college bars in Boulder, Shares set a goal of establishing himself as a professional DJ on a national level.
During the summers of 2009 and 2010, DJ Shares went on tour with the Corona Wide Open to locations all across the country. He traveled to cities such as: Santa Cruz, Manhattan Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Chicago, Virginia Beach, New Orleans and Santa Monica establishing himself as a national talent. He returns this summer to be part of the mayhem and fun that is, the Corona Light Wide Open.
In the Spring of 2010, DJ Shares began and continues his Friday night residency on the main floor at Beta Nightclub in Denver (Along with fellow resident DJ Petey). Recently, Beta Nightclub was voted #1 Nightclub in North America and #15 Nightclub in The World by DJMag.com. He also holds a Thursday night regular slot at The Boulder Absinthe House which was recently voted Best New Bar by Denver Metromix as well as best Dance Club by Boulder Weekly.
Recently… Beta Nightclub, Hot 107.1 (Denver), DJ Shares and DJ Petey have teamed up to host a weekly mixshow [Friday 11p-12a]. The goal of this show is to introduce the radio world to the unique remixes and sounds heard in the clubs. Shares’ open format DJing and knowledge of hip hop, electro, rock, pop and dance music allows him to deliver a unique style to nightclubs and airwaves.
DJ Shares has been heard all over the U.S. From Las Vegas to Ft. Lauderdale, New Orleans to Chicago, New York to Aspen & LA to Miami… not to mention, mixing it up at parties for companies such as Coors, Red Bull, Oakley, K2 Sports, Vail Resorts, Corona, Intrawest, Freeskier Magazine, Crown Imports, Mountain Sports International, Salomon, and Molson.
DJ Shares, known for his pop/dance remixes/mash ups, is currently one of Denver’s top party rockin’ DJs. He keeps a positive, humble outlook, and loves what he does. DJ Shares is not one to miss.
